This is a basic tutorial for PowerPoint on a Macintosh. It can easily be adapted for a PC.
1) Double click on Microsoft Office 2001.
2) Double click on the PowerPoint icon.
3) Click on PowerPoint presentation.
4) New Slide - choose the first one & click OK
5) Click on the title box and type: Two Holidays
6) Hold down the mouse & highlight Two Holidays
7) Go up to Format on the toolbar and choose Font
8) Pick Bold; Change the size to 54; click OK
9) Click on the subtitle box & type: By (press return) & type your name (press return).
10) Now go up to Insert on the toolbar & choose: New Slide
11) Pick the first one in the 3rd row.
12) Click on the Title box & type: Thanksgiving
13) Highlight it; Go up to Format on the toolbar and choose Font
14) Pick Bold; Change the size to 54; click OK
15) Click on: To add text box.
16) Type Turkey (press return) Pies (return) Family (return)
17) Highlight & go up to Format & change the font size
18) Double click on the picture icon (next box)
19) In the category column choose:
Home & Family; then click on Seniors; click on insert
20) Go up to Insert on the toolbar; choose New Slide
21) Pick the 2nd one in the 3rd row
22) Title box - type: Christmas - make the font bold & change the size
23) Double click on the picture icon
24) Click on Nature & choose winter & click Insert
25) Click on add text box
26) Type: I'm getting nothing for Christmas (press return)
27) Type: I've been nothing but bad!
28) Go up to View & choose Slide Show
29) Now use the mouse to click your way through your slide show!
30) If time, explore Animation (try and figure it out).

Part II - Halloween
Oops! We left out Halloween!
1) On the toolbar click on INSERT > NEW SLIDE
2) Pick the first one in the 3rd row (click OK)
3) Click on TO ADD TITLE
4) INSERT > PICTURE > WORD ART (5th choice down)
5) Pick one and click on OK
6) Where it says "Your Text Here" Type in Halloween and click OK
7) Move it up to "Click to add title"
8) It's too small, so double click on it
9) Go up to the size box and change it to 60
10) Move Halloween so that it is centered
11) Click on the first box below to the left
12) Now type in "I love Halloween!" (press enter)
13) Now type "I get to dress up!" (press enter)
14) Now type "People give me candy!" (press enter)
15) Type "Boo to you too!!!"
16) Now click on the box to the right
17) Go up to the toolbar and choose INSERT >
PICTURE > CLIP ART
18) At the very top click on CLIPS ONLINE
19) This takes you to the Microsoft Design Gallery online.
20) In the box marked SEARCH FOR type in witch and click on GO
21) Choose one and click on it
22) The picture of the witch will enlarge
23) Double click on it and close out of it (click on all the X's - top right corner)
24) You will now be back to your PowerPoint slide
25) Go up to INSERT > PICTURE >
CLIP ART
26) In the categories click on DOWNLOADED CLIPS
27) Click on your witch. A small box pops up. Choose the 1st choice (has a curved arrow)
28) Tada! Your slide now has your witch. You can resize it, if you want.
29) Now go up to VIEW > SLIDE SORTER
30) Click on the Halloween slide and drag it so that it's right after the first slide
31) Now double click on the first slide & change the title to "Three Holidays"
32) Click on SLIDE SHOW > VIEW SHOW and click away !
33) If time, explore Animation (try and figure it out)
