Dressage comes from the French word (verb) dresser, meaning "to train ". Dressage dates back to Greek times and knights in the middle (medieval) ages. During the Renaissance, people started using it as a training method for Europeans and it hardly has changed since then. The three-day event dressage was first included in the Olympic games in 1912. Show jumping was originally born in Paris in 1866. Unfortunately, their have been disagreements in the past from where it has really originated from.
