History And Rules

In the diving event there is a high board called the "plat form." there is a low board called "spring board." In this event divers turn and twist to do moves to score up to 10 points.  The divers can't make a big splash when they land in the water. They have to have a good tuck or the dive will not get a good score.

Some of the rules are that a day before the event, the divers have to give the officials a list of all the dives they are going to do in the competition. If a diver performs a dive that's not on the list, they will not get any points. If a diver lifts their feet, even a little bit, two or three points will get subtracted. The dives must show balance and control.  The take off should be high and be a good distance away from the board.  That way they can get a better score.
