For this assignment you will be creating a web page using Netscape Composer (a feature found in Netscape Communicator) and also features of Front Page.  The topic will be any Olympic athlete from the past or the present.  All the writing portions of this assignment should be written in correct paragraph form, proofread and edited carefully (have a friend peer edit it).  Each web page will be required to consist of the following components:

bulletA graphic representation of the sport the athlete participated in. This will appear at the top of your web page (you will be shown how to import a graphic  into a document).
bulletA biographical sketch of the athlete.  This should be in resume´ form.  You will be given an example of what should be included in a resume´.  This is a good section to include a link.
bulletAt least two paragraphs that include the event the Olympic athlete competed in and the history of that athletic event.  This may also include a summary of the rules of the athletic event (scoring, techniques, etc.), or other interesting facts that pertain to the sport/event.   This is a good section to include a link.
bulletAt least one paragraph that tells about the country the athlete represents.  This must include information about its geographic location, its population, a representation of the country's flag (this can be a link), and other present day facts.
bulletA minimum of three links to the World Wide Web. These must have a logical basis for being part of your web page.

This is a long term assignment, which will be completed, in the next two months. It is very ambitious and with everyone's cooperation it will be successful. You are expected to do all the written portions of this web page by yourself but we will all help each other in learning how to use Netscape Composer. You will be given time in Language Arts class, as well as time to use the computers in the Lab and in the classroom. You will also be expected to research your topic at home and to give this your best effort. When the project is completed, each student will use the LCD projector to present their web page to parents and friends.
