Narrative

My cat's name is Tiger . She is a two year old ally cat that I got from Sam . The way we got Tiger was once one of Sam's cats came over our house when Sam was on vacation . We fed it and the next day it came back with four baby kittens. We took care of it for one week.  When Sam came back from vacation he asked if we wanted a kitten. My Mom discussed it with my father when we were on vacation. Then when we came back they finally said yes. So we got two kittens named Fidget and Tiger. Fidget went back to Sam the first day we got her.  So that's how we got Tiger. If she wants to play and you don't, she will climb up your back to your neck and bite it until you play with her. She also hides somewhere down low and when you walk by her she will jump out and bite and scratch your leg. We have a bunk bed. She climbs up the ladder to my bed and sleeps at the end of my bed. My cat is a blend of gray, black, brown and white.  My cat is very ticklish and if you rub her stomach she will bite and scratch your hand.  If any animal comes in our yard she will kill or chase it away.  In the night we let her outside and when she wants to come in, she climbs up our gutter onto the porch roof and bangs on my mom and dad's window.  Tiger always has a mouse in her mouth and we tell her to leave it out side, but she leaves it on our roof and comes in.

Heredity

Tiger's mom was black with spooky green eyes. We don't know anything about the father cat because he was a stray. Tiger is what you would call a money cat, which is a cat with at least three colors. Only female cats are money cats.  Her eyes are green like her mother's but not spooky looking. She must get her dominant genes from her father.  As far as his color goes, he must have been at least 2 different colors.  Tiger is a good hunter, probably because both her mother and father lived in the wild.

Background

The cat was first domesticated some 5,000 years ago. This took place in the valley of Nile, in what is now Sudan but was then upper Egypt. Cats in Egypt were gods and goddesses. If you killed or injured one, even by accident, it was a capital crime.  If a house caught on fire, the cats were saved first, then if there was still time they would save the children.  People were, after all, only human. They also thought cats had a direct influence upon health, marriage and fortune. Egyptian cats spread all over the western world by trade. The western world now had house cats, ally cats, and just plain cats everywhere. Trade routes to China and India soon spread cats to the rest of the known world. Cats were off and running!
